How to Get Back on the Wagon: Focus Sessions!

Well friends! I fell off the wagon. I reeeeaaalllly fell off the wagon. It's all because of me, no other excuses. So now that I've realized I have, lets move forward and find out how I got here and how I can avoid this misstep in the future.

So I worked out only once.... OUCH! I called my sales director only twice....OUCH! My appointment cancelled and I didn't have any others booked....OUCH! I see a pattern.... I didn't stay focused on my goals.... I let them quickly move to the back burner. HOWEVER, We did stick to the planned payments with my paycheck last week and his payments this week. That has been refreshing!
So now it's time to refocus and move forward.

I have started listening/watching to Chalene Johnson and Gloria Mayfield Banks on Periscope! They live stream videos from their adventures in life to give their viewers tips for success, a kick in the pants when we need it, and most of all inspiration to work towards the GOALS we have placed before ourselves. I do want to be there, National Sales Director Tiffanie by age 35. I do want to be there, Custom Built Home with the wrap around porch with the second story back porch, separate office/guest house, and dream garage for my husband. I do want to be there, 70 lbs lighter and out playing my children in the yard with the dogs.

So what steps do I need to take to get back on the "Wagon"? Take it 20 mins at a time. 20 mins in the morning, 20 mins in the afternoon, and 20 mins in the evening.  I know I can gather 10-20 new leads in 20 mins, so that could become 30-60 new leads a day! I know I personally can book 2-3 appointments in 20 mins, so that could lead to booking 6-9 appointments a day!! I know I can knock out a workout in 20 mins, so that could lead to a full 60 min workout a day!!! I know I can focus 20 mins on organizing our lives, so that could mean I could organize 3 areas a day!!!! GOSH! What a difference it will make when I look at next week's recap at the progress I've made!! I'm pretty excited!!

Well now I have an idea to build from. Time to put it into a plan and adjust my schedule to be prepared to follow these simple 20 min "Focus Sessions!"

I'd love to hear feedback about your goals, your progress, or questions! Have a great week!!

Mid-Week Update!

It's Wednesday! Even though my "work week" starts on Saturdays this month, I felt it was time to do a quick week one check-in!

So far this week with my schedule, spending, and fitness, I give myself a B-.

I've been making the adjustment in my morning routine to include that 30 mins of exercise and for the last 3 days, I totally flaked on Monday's workout, but was determined to make it on Tuesday. Tuesday rolled around and I only got up 10 mins earlier. *Womp womp* No big deal, this is a process, just keep going. Well this morning I was up 35 mins earlier!! Woohoo!! Still not the full hour earlier, but I figured out the DVD player in my sleepy state and completed 1/2 of the BeachBody 21 Day Fix- Cardio Fix session! Talk about sweating in the morning... phew! If you want to know more about the program I am starting or the coach I am working with, I've linked her FB fitness page here. She is an inspiration and is an amazing motivator!

In my spending, I am happy to say that I have yet to spend anything since I started! Woohoo! No quick trips to WaWa while running around town for work! I used to spend at least 20-25$ a DAY... (WHAT WAS I THINKING!? NO WONDER WE ARE BROKE!) Realizing that it's almost all my fault we are where we are financially is heartbreaking and freeing. We found the problem and we are fixing it!

So there it is! My Mid-Week update! Have a great day! #BuildingAnOvercomer
I'll leave you with this gorgeous picture of the waterway I row on from time to time! I love rowing!

How to work in your pockets of time!

WE ARE ALL BUSY! Am I right!? For example, I'm typing this in between bites of my lunch. Sometimes, that's what needs to be done in order to insure that you are moving forward with your goals in life! Today, I want to talk about scheduling your new goal(s) into your already busy life!

"People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine." – Brian Tracy

Outside of being a full time employee for someone else's gain, I am also a small business owner with an amazing company that supplies women the confidence to turn their dreams into a goal and achieve them! Being apart of this amazing sisterhood for over 4 years now has changed the way I believe in myself, believe in my team, and believe in potential team members. A very important thing I have been able to accomplish is how to realistically schedule my pockets of time. 15 mins of dedicated work can move a mountain out of your success path! The way I schedule is now taught to new members  in other teams in our area! I was very honored to find this out!

Below is my Week Planned Out:

So as you can see, I wasn't kidding about being busy! Ha! I carefully plan out my days so that I'm not distracted and don't procrastinate! I cross off the items I have completed, and that to me is a huge reward! Plus, it helps me stay on track through out the day!

Each line in my hour block is a 30 min section. For example, on 8/20, at 3pm, I'll make an appointment follow up call while on the way to pick my kids up from the sitter. I cannot a multi-task. I can when the tasks are brainless and repetitive, but while running a business or making a difference in the lives around me, I truly want to be in the moment and not distracted.

Your calendar does not need to look like this at all! This is just how I have been able to put my family life, work life, and business life onto one page.

A little up date on my goals. Since creating this blog a few days ago, I have dropped 2 lbs! Also, my husband and I took on the daunting task of mapping out the next 90 days worth of paychecks, bills, and debt payments! I'm confident and excited to say that when we stick to this schedule, we will be in our new rental home by Thanksgiving!

How are your goals coming along? Have any questions? Comment below!! Have a fantastic day!!

Creating a Goal!

Ok so let's get right to it! Creating a goal! To go from just talking about accomplishing something to ACTUALLY achieving it is a lot of work! For the "previous" me, I became overwhelmed very quickly. So together, let's turn our dreams into goals!

What's a dream? When we were children, we would dream all the time! We wanted to pretend that we lived in castles and ruled the world! Some of us would dream that we had a fancy car or nice clothes. I remember when I was little, I always dreamed of being able to go buy ice cream whenever I wanted.  HaHa!

Such a simple dream back then speaks volumes to me know that I'm an adult. Being able to buy ice cream was a treat in my family. We weren't "dirt floor poor," but we certainly weren't on the "weekend shopping spree" rung of the economic ladder either. I like to say we were in an uncomfortably comfortable middle. That being said, my parents ALWAYS made sure my younger brother and I had what we needed and most times a few things we wanted. So my dream is to be financially secure. Sounds simple right!? Those two words, make up what I want to achieve in my life. Money doesn't buy you happiness, but it sure does allow you to make the choices you need to be happy.

Also, I have about 75 lbs of unwanted "me" hanging around. It's collected over the last 6 years and it's time I evicted it!

Well now I've got somewhere to start. I have 2 "WHYs."

What is a WHY? A "why" is as simple as my toddler asking me 400 times "Why?" He is able to get to the root of any interest he has just by saying those three little letters. When you dive into your dream, keep asking yourself "Why?" until you have gotten to the root of why you want to accomplish your dream. This should take more than 3 minutes and could even make you cry. Really dig deep inside yourself emotionally to find out your "Why." Now you take a few minutes and figure out your "why." I'll wait...

Phew! That was hard to do! *sniff sniff* Taking that dream of wanting to be Financially Secure down to realizing that I have a lot of hurt in my past from when we got married and had our daughter just 4 months later to being a family of 4 just 6 years later. I want financial security for my family and I so that we can let go of the embarrassment we have had from having to ask for help. That makes me sad, mad, and determined!

Also, I want to travel. Being financially secure in my mind is not having to choose to visit family or escape the strongholds of our daily lives to go on an adventure! Visiting family will ALWAYS take priority when we plan our vacations, but I want us to be able to take a second or even third vacation each year! That sounds like heaven to me! I'll post my bucket list later. It's getting pretty long!

Finally, this weight issue is not only physically but emotionally weighing me down. I am not the happy outspoken person I used to be. I don't smile all the time anymore and I am very self conscious of my appearance. With various health issues that run through my family, it's time to stop talking and start moving! Even my husband has felt his own weight gain in the last few years and it's taking a toll on him as well. FINALLY! He and I are motivated for the same thing! Health and Fitness! Friends, you have no idea how happy it makes me that he wants to workout with me!

What's a goal? To me, a goal is taking that dream and adding a deadline to it! *break out the scary soundtrack* A deadline! That word scares me and it might scare you too! THAT IS TOTALLY OK! Adding a deadline to your "why" turns a childhood dream into an adult goal! That is a huge step toward achieving your own success!!

What are my goals? I broke them down because you can only eat an elephant sized goal one way....one bite at a time.

Keep checking back to see how my progress is going! I can't wait for my first day of the next 30 days to begin tomorrow!!

I'd love to hear your feedback about your style of goal setting! What keeps you motivated to stick to a goal you have a set for yourself? How do you break yourself free from the chains of procrastination? Comment below! I'd love to hear from you!! #BuildingAnOvercomer
